Our Purpose
Principles
At Congregation Or-Ami, we live by the foundational principle that we are called to serve the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Through this service, we worship, learn, and grow by studying, teaching, and faithfully practicing the laws, statutes, commandments, and testimonies of the Most High God, given to the Hebrews (the Children of Israel) through His servant Moses and preserved in the historic records of the prophets, prophetesses, and judges.
These teachings guide how we are to live both within our land and throughout the diaspora. They instruct us in how to interact with others—with compassion and grace, slow to anger, abounding in loving-kindness and truth, and committed to charity—serving as a living example to all whom we encounter.

Our Mission
We have Complete Trust. . .
At Congregation Or-Ami, we place complete trust in the original design of the Creator—that we are called to be a light to ourselves and to the nations of the world. We fulfill this calling by preserving our culture through faithful observance of Torah and through worship of the only true Power of the universe, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
Through diligent study of the books of the Law, the Prophets, and the Judges that have been preserved for us, we seek a deeper and more faithful understanding of what is required of us. By actively engaging in the study of Torah and the entire Tanakh, authentically living our culture, and committing ourselves to providing for the less fortunate in every way possible, we believe this work leads not only to our own growth, but to the growth and betterment of humanity as a whole.
