Bereishit Summarized
Bereishit means “In the beginning.” God creates the heavens, earth, and all living things in six days, resting on the seventh. He creates Adam and Eve and places them in the Garden of Eden, where they disobey His command and are expelled.
Their son Cain murders his brother Abel and is condemned to wander. Adam and Eve later have another son, Seth, whose descendants include Noah.
As humanity increases, wickedness and corruption spread throughout the earth. God determines to bring judgment upon mankind, but Noah finds favor in His eyes.
