About the event

The name "Tazria" means "conceives" and comes from Leviticus 12:2. The name "Metzora" means "leper" and comes from Leviticus 14:2.

Tazria continues the discussion of ritual impurity and purity. Metzora picks up where it leaves off: when a leper is healed, a priest performs a purification ritual using two birds, spring water in an earthen vessel, cedar wood, a scarlet thread, and hyssop.
