About the event

Haazinu — Brief Summary

Deuteronomy 32:1–52

Moses calls heaven and earth as witnesses and reminds Israel of God’s protection and provision. He warns that prosperity may lead Israel to abandon God and turn to other gods, resulting in judgment and suffering. Nevertheless, God will ultimately judge Israel’s enemies and restore His people and land. The portion concludes with Moses being commanded to ascend Mount Nebo, where he will see the Promised Land before his death but will not enter it.

Haftarah Summary — Hosea 14:2–10; Micah 7:18–20

Hosea calls upon Israel to return to God, turn away from sin and idolatry, and trust in Him rather than foreign powers. God promises forgiveness, love, healing, and renewed prosperity.

Micah praises God for His mercy and forgiveness, declaring that He will show compassion, remove Israel’s sins, and remain faithful to the promises made to Jacob and Abraham.
